Network Rail is among 26 firms to sign an open letter calling for flexible working hours to be offered as standard to all employees.
It is said in the letter that when it comes to their contracted hours, employees should be allowed to work the hours that suited them best and made necessary changes when needed.
It is also said that people are encouraged to work from home in order to help tackle climate change.
They are urging the Government to improve flexible working rights to ensure that parents don’t have to choose between their career and their family.
